Finally got around to Seasons
3 and 4. This posting is a
followup to the Yellowstone
posting earlier in this forum.

Now as to Jimmy and his new
to be bride; I expect not only
will he be showcased in the
6666 series but his girlfriend
from Montana will follow him
and mess up his life. And maybe
provide tragedy when she "Gets
at" Jimmy's bride.

Taylor Sheridan, the actor/writer/
producer/creator in Yellowstone
certainly put himself into a lot
of scenes. He's Travis the Texas
wrangler who provides Dutton
with the million dollar nags and
always shows up with the cutting
horse scenes. He reportedly lives
in Weathersford, TX, Cutting Horse
Capital of the World.

Besides his modern day Westerns
such as Hell or High Water and
Wind River, he also wrote Sicario
and Sicario: Day of the Soldato.

Like him or not and all the cussing
he writes into his works, he's the
big dog right now in Hollywood.
And he provides entertainment that
I believe a lot of us here like.

He/they seem to building a franchise of shows out of this. I've only watched the Yellowstone series. 1883 seems like it would be too contrived but I haven't watched it. This past season was lackluster and all the actors promoting their brand in the commercials during the show is distracting. The cutting scenes are interesting to watch but the show doesn't hold much entertainment value anymore for me. I have to say Jimmy plays a convincing meth head.

My wife and I have been watching the series. We heard so many good things about it we decided to commit to it. In my opinion, it is predictable contrived and honestly there is too much unrestrained violence that just makes it impossible for me to take it seriously. I may be in the minority here, but just my opinion.

I mean hell they killed off half the county in the first season and the cover ups? How do you cover some of that stuff up? It just is not believable. I am going to finish the series since we actually paid for it and out of pure curiosity, but I would not rate it as great as others have. Maybe my expectations were too high based on all the buzz around it.

llowery61,

Can't disagree with you on
a lot of points you make.

Truth is two-hour movies
are often better because
a lot of junk side trips
are elimnated. The story
as it is must be told
quickly.

Best summation for Yellowstone
is when the chief finance boss
for developing a huge new city
says the "west" is a myth.

I would agree with you on that point as well.

I won’t be following Jimmy to the 6666 Ranch for one minute. He never interested me one bit. Don’t know why they even gave him so much time.
I’ll stick with Yellowstone and 1883.

Folks think the Walking Dead was the cats meow. Yeah, that’s all real.

Jimmy was the nicest human
being in the show; that's why
he gets so much time. His
development was the most
positive thing occurring.

It's been mentioned that I should
remember Yellowstone is fiction.

But so was Justified, so was Breaking
Bad, so was Boardwalk Empire, so was
Deadwood, so was The Sopranos, so
was The Wire and they were excellent.

and I'd throw in 24 and maybe Blacklist, though it has had some really poor episodes(like S9E7)and subplots, especially as the series got older. Thank goodness Elizabeth is dead. And Boston Legal , if only for Shatner!

Also excellent series add
Billions and Succession.
And for pure fun The
Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
and wonderful fantasy
The Boys, very humorous.
