Joaquim Engraved 53 SW Ed 5

Flipping thru the new 5th Edition of the second greatest book known to mankind. I am stunned by the model 53 shown on page 82 with the Joaquim engraving.it appears to be about the most complete coverage ive ever seen, even the thin side to the trigger guard look like they have work done to them. Then there’s the very interesting gold inlaid work subject matter reaching up to the cylinder release. Wow! It’s very interesting the bears and cat on the right side with the female on the left. 2 very different themes. I don’t recall seeing another revolver posted with an engraved nude on it. I wondered if anyone here has other photos of this spectacular revolver. Ide love to see more pics of it. Notes say it’s part of the Keathley collection.

It is a spectacular gun. It was on display at the SWCA 2024 Symposium and I spent a lot of time looking at it. DJ was notorious for slipping nudes into his engraving - it is one of his trademarks.

That was a Great display at the Symposium, beautiful gun! Seems like his work should be paired with a Bob Loveless knife.

Pretty cool how he sectioned up the front sight to match the theme of the overall engraving. Haven’t seen a lot of that.
Is the ram or it’s horns actually 3 dimensional? It looks like it’s leaping off the side plate.

Gorgeous! Is that a hound dog just below the barrel pin? Tasteful booty engraving on the knife.
