I noticed on this last week's Pawn Stars they had a gentleman bring in a John Wesley Hardin business card which turned out to be the real deal. I myself have always wanted one of these, not exactly sure why, but as a Old West enthusiast, John Wesley Hardin is the ultimate when it comes to outlaws and gunfighters. Gives me the twinges just thinking on it.

WHy would John Wesley Hardin have a business card?

By the time a person was able to contact him, the need for him would have been passed.

Paladin's first name was Wire???
Me and my big brother would watch reruns of this in the mid sixties and he really made fun of me when I told him Paladin's first name was "Wire". Funny you should mention that.
He would shoot holes in his cards too and sell them to buy drinks. Those pop up, too. This card was a great find.

For those who haven't figured it out, "Wire Paladin" means to send a telegraph to him in San Francisco.

what goes around...

Suposedly, the guy that shot him used the reward to buy the ranch that Bush and his buddies shot each other up with bird shot on a while back-I believe the one Cheney shot was a lawyer too... Flapjack.

HUH? What? Telegraph. Just when I thought I had my Iphone figured out.
sipowicz, would you please call me and explain how I can send telegraphs from my Iphone.

Yep, JWH "read law" while in prison, and hung out a shingle in El Paso when released. Messing around with one of his client's wife while his client was in Mexican stir got him in some trouble, as I recall. Always interesed in JWH as he was born in my home town, Bonham, Texas, and some of my family members knew some of his family members that were still living here up into the 1950's.

Tryin' to figger that one out myownself. I allus thought you sent telegrams, using a machine called the telegraph.

If you want to send a telegraph, does it have to go common carrier, or can you send it through the post office?
