Never heard of him.
I watched a few minutes of a Wick film once - horrible. I think some of the Internet gunfighters are Wick followers.
Mr. Wick uses a lot of different guns for his business. Not to mention a pencil.....

I wanted to give the movie a chance so I watched about an hour of the first one before coming to the same conclusion that you did.
PS: the boys and I are fans of the franchise.

How can you not love a guy who once killed a man with a pencil? I enjoyed all of the Wick movies, and they were fun to watch with my dad. My dad is in his 80's and really into firearms, and he enjoyed the heck out of the movies. Sometimes you just have to suspend disbelief a little bit to enjoy certain types of movies.

In the Bruce Willis movie RED (probably RED II)
the oriental guy kills a guy with basically a paper airplane,,
That was WAY cooler than a pencil,,,

and, in RED II ,, they have a nuclear bomb as big as a lunch box,,
it is powered by "red mercury",, which you see in the glass tube.
The bomb is detonated,, and only the bad guy dies,,,
According to the Internet score keeper, John Wick to date has killed 439 baddies. As is pointed out, that's pretty good for a guy without any special super powers.
It's good mindless entertainment. And I'd be pissed too if I owned that '69 Mach I and Somes scumbag stole it. Killing your dog,...........all limits are off the table. Everyone connected has to pay........ ��

Those movies are fun, so long as you put your reality chip in sleep mode. Even so, I do like his method of dealing with those in heavy body armor.
Halle Berry once explained how hard they train to do those fight scenes. It's very difficult. Nothing horrible about those flicks at all.

John. You are totally correct....He is his own shooter/stunt man.......maybe some on u-tube.
I have downloads of all the JW movies.

Both her and Reeves train with live fire for their parts. My guess is they are professional actors, and they enjoy shooting guns.

My daughter (early 30's, Navy vet) and I were enjoying a pizza and movie night watching one of the John Wick documentaries when he did a one handed press check on a 1911. My daughter lit up with a big smile and said "That's cool! I remember when you taught me to do that!"
I saw #3 on a long United flight once. Yeah it was over the top but it passed the time. Next flight I watched #2 and then #1. It grew on me. At least the scars on his face are self-consistent throughout the shows. That helps.
To me the series is a version of the Charles Bronson movies. Maybe even a third generation Dirty Harry series.
Entertainment with a shooter hero. Suspend disbelief- enjoy.

In "Street Kings," check out Reeves' custom Colt .45 featured in IMFDB. He's been assocdiated with movie producers who like fine firearms for a long time.
They both trained for 6 months with Taran Butler. Halle had NEVER shot a gun before! Keanu even trains shooting with his weak hand. If you watch closely, on one of his head shots, you see “pink mist”!
