Have never had a bad one. Just saw some "new-to-me" sausages flavored "sweet and spicy". They're said to be fully cooked with several ways to finish them off for eating.

I'm thinking...In a shallow pan on the grill...floating in beer...onions and peppers.

I like about anything that comes in a casing (similar to Anthony Bourdain), but with high BP, I really need to watch the salt content -which rules out eating this stuff on a regular basis - and forget Costco's great hotdog deal - that has 2 days worth of salt for me in one - add relish, kraut, mustard, ketchup, etc. and I might as well be eating a salt lick! B ut damn, they ARE good!

Here in north FL/south GA we have a great selection of homemade small sausage makers with flavors and seasonings that are awesome. Whether in pan or link form, they cook up great and are OH so tasty!

I prefer Boulder brand brats, but they may be available only in Colorado. Much more flavor than Johnsonville.

Just like here Germany has regions, A Bavarian won't cook food like a N. German would simply because of available ingredients. The food varies because of that. When the Germans came to the US they brought what they knew. Then we add American grown ingredients that are processed differently.

I frequent the local German restaurant and the owner is from Stuttgart. As close to Nurnberg as that is I find the style of cooking different. Then we ask them to cook some fish recipe from the N Sea. Hello! There are Bavarians that have never seen the ocean.

It's like giving a Maine cook a Spiny Lobster. He's gonna cook it like a Maine lobster. All the time wondering where the claws went.

when I got to Germany I thought I would miss a good burger. the burgers at the base exchange were really bad. I was told to eat at the German canteen on base and after that I never missed burgers. there was plenty of good places to eat in Frankfurt.

I love the originals on the grill, with Bar B Q sauce and a bit charred. An old German idiom, "es ist mir Wurst." Meaning I don't care, as there are so many kinds of sausages to choose from. A big German Wurst on a Kaiser roll in one hand and a liter of Bier in the other! Heaven.
