Very nice. I like snubbies, stubbies, however you want to call them.... LOL.

My Two (someday I'd like a steel framed one):

IMO you can not beat a 640 .357 mag 2" SS for concealed carry and "controllable" recoil. Mine is a 640-1. Although I admit my cc round of choice is a P+ 110gn Federal hydra shok. I have not fired a full load .357. In it.
I have a 638 with the aluminum frame, not nearly as controllable even with standard 38 specials. The engraving is optional, no effect on recoil.

Love that 340. Snubs are my favorite. I have six at the moment and carry one every day.

You'll love an all-steel version of one of those. The slight extra weight makes them a joy to shoot, while still being easy to carry even in a pocket.

I can no longer shoot .357 Magnum for physical reasons, but I never considered it for carry in a snubby revolver. Just never thought it necessary in an up-close defensive gun, which is what a J-frame is designed to be, and it's definitely harder to control for a fast second shot if needed.

A good .38 Special +P load is plenty for me, and all I've carried for the last twenty-one years.

Don't think I would admit to being a member of the stubbie club, but the snubbie club is a different thing!Forgot to mention that I have been carrying an M&P 340 for several years. Great little gun.

I got to bring home my new handgun today. I like it! It's going to take a while to get use to it. It's my first double action only revolver. I keep on reaching for the hammer. I'm a handgun hunter at heart. It shot better than I did. I shot 155 rounds of 38 specials of different loads and weights. I know it will take practice and time. If I keep my distance at 7 to 10 yards and took my time I did fine. Everything worked as it was supposed to, I'm happy. The only problem I have is spelling snubbie

Snubby. ?? I think? LOL. Snub-nose.

Sounds like you had a good time with your new revolver. That is great!!!!

welcome to the club! I have been back and fourth from semi autos to revolvers but always end back up with a j frame.
