I removed my 15-22s barrel this afternoon, to thread it for the flash hider. I have read on here, that the barrel nuts are generally not very tight. Well, mine was every bit of 20 ft/lb tight! I began to think that I was gonna have to make a barrel clamping block for the vise, instead of the rubber coated jaws I was using. I also noticed that the barrel nut threads had been liberally oiled at the factory. Just a couple things I noticed during the process.

I've removed several of these barrels and no 2 r the same .. some of them just spin right off like 5 lbs.. the others can be 5 times that tight.. I think the factor rating is a warnig not to tighten it past that or you'll break something..
