I stopped into my local shop over the weekend and saw that someone bought in a load of air rifles, There were two which interested me, Since I didnt know much about them, I went home with info on the two I liked.
Well some surfing revealed real good reviews and excellent prices on the two I liked.
The upper is a Feinwerkbau Sport 124
The lower one is a HW-80.
Reading revealed that the FWB for 200 is less than 1/2 going price, And I got the HW for 125, and going rate for them is $500.
Here are some pics

They are both in 100% condition and I was fooling with the adjustable triggers,,, WOW is all I can say,,, They will adjust down to nearly nothing, No creep, Just touch them and they fire.
I am impressed in the German workmanship of these two Springer air guns!
If you know anything about them, Please chime in!
I am off to the basement to use those old Phone books I have!

All I can say is WOW!! You did good. That 80 will be a great small game hunting gun. I'd put a better scope on it though.

Anyone with some info or a good forum where I can gain more knowledge on there gems?
Ran a few rounds indoors, And Wow, The HW-80 seems like it wants to be aimed at the tree rats!
Any scope suggestions?
Thanks
Peter.

Here's about the most informative airgun forum on the WEB. http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/

They'll treat you good. Just ask away. And, yeah the HW80 is an outdoor gun. What cal. is yours? You really do have two nice guns. The scope will depend on what you want to do. Airgun scopes need to be built sturdier than powder burner scopes because the recoil is both frontward and backward. So, make sure you getan airgun rated scope. They also need to be rated for recoil. The 80 is listed as a heavy recoil aigun. Take your time and do the research. I had to spend $300 to scope my last rifle.

Here's what Straightshooters has to say about the 80.

Here's some scopes at Straightshooters. remember that you need to look at "Heavy Recoil" ones.

whats left and can ya forward the shop contact info... those are a couple of good guns and great deals! I would not sell either of the FWB 124's I have for double that!

the forums I frequent have already been mentioned. The YELLOW forum is a good all around one. Don't be bashful come on over!

Yanici, Thank you so much for the info! I cant really afford a 300 dollar scope for a 125 rifle

, I also really dont want to kill the Bushnell sport that's on the FWB, But I wont mind shooting the HW80 till that little Tasco bites the dust, I have several nice Elpaso Weavers, I dont want to kill them either, But I wonder if they are rated well enough to handle the Air rifles???
I guess I have more learning to do!
Peter.

I don't think that you could overspend for an airgun rated scope for the FW 124.

Forgive me for this question,
What do you mean? Would a good scope be cheap?
~~~ DO you think an old Weaver ElPaso would hold up?
I wouldn't use the older Weavers on an air rifle. Lenses & erectors need to be braced front and rear for spring air guns.
Also you might want to check the seals on the FWB. Many older springers had leather seals which deteriorate with age and lube. I don't remember if the 124 used leather or synthetic seals.
Check out Pyramid Air, they have decent Springer scopes for under $50. Never Dry Fire a springer. Also I would look for Springer oil kit. I has the oil to keep the piston seal alive, and another for the spring and barrel hinge. Love my springers.
You stole these!!!!! As mentioned, DO NOT DRY FIRE springers. The Yellow Forum can be a treasure trove of information and the people there are always ready to help. That FWB 124 you snagged is highly sought after. Good examples of German engineering.
Looking at that picture again, I think your FW124 is actually a FW124D (deluxe). I had a sport back when they were new, it had a plain stock. I now have a deluxe, it has the checkering. Great Score!
Spring piston air guns require special high flashpoint lubricants.
Do not dry fire them.
They will destroy ordinary riflescopes with their two-way recoil snap.
[charletonheston]I'll give up my own 124D when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers.[/charletonheston]
The FWB124D is highly effective against marauding smiley faces:
Just don't let them get inside your ten meter perimeter or you're toast. Like, game over, man.
