Since I recently did a yearly full disassembly, cleaning and lube of my EDC (M60-7) I figured today I'd do a "sprucing up" of my Carry Rig which as many here already know is a Kramer Leather Horsehide Belt Scabbard, Ammo Dump Pouch and 1 /14" Belt. I wear this Rig about 45% of the time now (approx. 3 days a week) and Pocket Carry the rest of the time.

Basically all I did was to wipe them down with a clean Microfiber towel, applied some good old Kiwi Black Shoe Polish, wait a few minutes and buff off. After a good buffing with a Horse Hair brush I buffed them once again with the MF Towel to make sure there was no black residue to get on my clothing. About 40 minutes later they look as if they are brand new again. :D After wearing for a year they do get scratched, nicked and dinged and life is too short to wear an ugly belt rig. :D

It did take me a few minutes extra to clean the Verdigris off the inside of the ammo carrier though. I use Buffalo Bore #20A 158 grain +P's as my carry ammo and as anyone here who has used BB ammo knows all their handgun cartridges are made of Brass and are not available with Nickeled cases. Tim Sundles says that because of the very very tight crimp he uses he can not use Nickel cases because they would crack when crimped. So I did clean the Verdigris off the inside of the Horsehide Pouch and then used a small speck of Flitz on a MF rag to clean up the Cartridges themselves. I will shoot the old ones out at the Range the next time I go and refill with new ammo (yearly rotation). Well, I'm GTG for a while with this Rig. :)

Thanks for reminding me. I gotta polish my black leather boots. We're gonna be visitin' family for Christmas.
Also, I'm gonna start using black thread when I make my own gear so I can use shoe polish to spruce it up from time to time.

Even the black Holsters I have that originally had White Thread now have Black Thread - lol! My Brown Holsters now have Brown Thread after a little rub-n-buff with Kiwi Shoe polish.
