While waiting for my WI CWL to show up I've been making a few holsters for the guns I would carry. This is the latest one for my 637. It is a copy of the Milt Sparks Axiom and I am totally in love with this design. I made one like this for my FS M&P40 and it makes the weight just disappear. It even pulls the full size butt in tight to help it conceal very well. This J-frame disappears under just a normal sized t-shirt. And mine is just a copy of the Axiom from looking at photos of the real thing...I can't imagine how nice an original must be!

I used a new brand of snaps for this one and am really disappointed that the finish on them started to come off before I even finished the holster! I also spaced the stitch line a little too far away from the revolver on this one and if I make another one of these I'll bring it in tighter. Overall I'm happy with it and think it will do the job when I want to carry the 2" J-frame on my hip.

Very nicely done. I think you should consider making holsters professionally, either part-time or full-time, if you haven't considered it already.

congratulations

I would like to congratulate you and your fellow Wisconsinites for getting such a great CCH law passed. Way to go.

From the photo:

Edging, very nicely done.
Stitching, very nicely done.
Dye job, very nicely done.
Boning, very nicely done.
Design, a proven design.

Overall it appears that the workmanship equals or betters the best holsters out there.

I'm a little jealous.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. While I've only ever made holsters for my own use I wouldn't mind being able to sell a few down the road. The way things are right now I am only able to make holsters for the models I own myself and an advertising budget is non existent.

I am considering a Karma giveaway for one of my holsters just to get one out there, but it wouldn't be until after the first of the year.

By the way, I'm still waiting for that CCL to show up. I'm on day 38 of the 45 day limit that the DOJ has to either approve or deny my application.

Just saw your holster while flipping through. Very nice workmanship! I'd love to have a nice holster like that for my 642!

With all the things you pointed out as being wrong with the holster I would be happy to volunteer to wear it for, I don't know, the next ten years and get back to you about the quality.
As already stated, NICE JOB!
Frank.
