I traded for a used M&P 40c thats in excellent condition. Already included the Apex trigger upgrades. I don't have a CCW yet, but I hope to get it in the next few months. I'm wondering what holsters other concealed carry users are using. I'm looking at the Crossbreed SuperTuck, my dad uses that and he loves it with his Glock 36.

Also what are people using for personal defense ammo in the 40c?

One last question, has anyone ran into problems with Wolf or TulAmmo or any other Russian ammo with these guns?

congrats on the new purchase, I use Hornady critical defense FTX for my defense ammo, never an issue, for range I use Winchester white box so far so good, as for a holster I'm looking also gonna go with a kydex hybrid seems to be the most popular from various vendors

Speer Gold dots for my FS40. 180 or 165 gr both worked with no issue. Very accurate too. Winchester white box for range and practice or Federal American Eagle. No issues with either I haven't shot any Wolf or Tulammo since the ranges I go to do not allow steel case.

I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees

There have been some horror stories on here about Tulammo. Its not worth the couple of bucks savings in my humble opinion.
I use the Galco King Tuk with both my .40c and 9c. Works great.

I like the holsters at http://www.firearmholster.com/

For personal defense ammo, I prefer either Federal HST, Speer Gold Dot, or Remington Golden Saber. 165gr is a good weight for the .40 S&W. Really any good name brand will suit your needs as long as you test fire a couple mags minimum for functioning/cycling.

I have never used Wolf or Tulammo, can't answer that question.

Ive had a few issues with tulammo but i think that was because of an excessively dirty box. I usually pick up steel case for a little extra stock or going out to the farm, along with some brass and aluminum case. But usually i try to pick up Monarch from Academy sports, stuff has never had an issue for me and i dont think its a Tulammo rebrand. Isn't very dirty and is even cheaper than Tulammo which is the only part that scares me haha

Remora holders, save your money and don't make the same mistake I have been making for 20 years of buying holsters that don't feel right.
I recently discovered Remora and I have to say they are THE BEST. I carry everyday IWB switching a Glock 30S and a Shield. You can run, jump, adjust the cant etc. All of my friends converted once they experimented with one of mine. Check it out you will not be disappointed.

Well I just got back from the range a few hours ago. Shot 100 rounds of Blazer Brass 180 grain through the 40c. No major malfunctions, but I noticed that sometime during the range trip the front site white dot fell off. I noticed in one of Hickok45's M&P 40c videos that happened to him as well. Shoots as well as I do, and the Apex trigger parts make it easy to get the rounds off. It's been awhile since I shot a .40, and that was with a full size Smith and Wesson 3rd gen alloy semi-auto. Was taken back by the recoil from the 40c, but towards the end I was getting used to it.

I use an MTAC by Comp-Tac Inside Waistband Holsters - Minotaur Holsters - products new home - Minotaur MTAC Holster It works with all my M&P's except the Shield which I also have one MTAC for it, after trying all the others this is the very best you can get for your money.

Note that the 40 you see is full size but the 40c will work with it just fine if not better with better placement for IWB carry.

By the way the avatar you see in my post is a compact 40.

I have a 9C and a FS40, so not exactly what you have, but here are a couple observations. I have & love Remora holsters, especially for my single-stacks. I have one for each M&P pistol too, however I prefer a hybrid for pistols that heavy. I also have and really like the Hidden Hybrid Holster Booboo357 mentioned even though mine's made for another pistol. I've been interested in the Firearmholster.com holsters Bozz10mm brought up, as they are similar to HHH, except a little smaller and slightly less $. A feature I really like about these holsters are their suede backing. To me that makes them more comfortable and they tend to move around less. I also like that they can be used as an OWB holster. Another option is an N82 holster - I like the full-coverage suede backing they use, but find mine moves around slightly more with only the single belt clip. Finally, I think any quality SD ammo that works well in your particular firearm will do the job. I tend to like Ranger T and Gold Dots because our local PD use them; besides they work well in my pistols.

I'm wondering what holsters other concealed carry users are using. I'm looking at the Crossbreed SuperTuck,

First holster I used for my M&P 40c was a SuperTuck Deluxe and I found the two clips to be a overkill for the small pistol

I now use a Ryman Hybred 1 with adjustable cant and retension or the Nate 8 Profession with the Nate 8 being the most comfortable, with best retention and most used for EDC.

Just returned from vacation and drove 9 hours with while carrying using the Nate 8. Almost forget it was there.

Critical duty with the crossbreed holster!!!

I've got both, a Alien Gear and Old Faithful for my 40c.
I agree with some of the statements above, overkill and bulky.
I work less than one mile from Foxx Holsters. I ordered a Little FoxX yesterday. I still like a hybrid Kydex, I just don't need all that bulk. A little leather, single clip...and good to go.

I've personally used Tulammo but not in a S&W and never had a problem after 100's of rounds no complaints. As far as holsters goes, I agree with the firearmholster.com recommendation. I have one and it's a great quality holster with custom options. Plus he's a local small business guy and I like to support small business.
