I just got back from the gun show held in Symrna, Tn. This was a really good show and a big show as well. There were lots of rifles, shotguns and pistols there. There were assault rifles of all kinds shapes and sizes from regular stocks to pistol grip folding stocks. Had a lot of Ruger mini 14s. There were several tables selling magazines. They were well stocked and had about every one covered. The prices were mostly good with a little price gouging. There was a butt trying to get $525 for a Ruger LCP. I don't feel too bad about the $329 I paid for mine. There were S&W, Glocks, Rugers and Taurus with a few Colts, kimbers, HK and a lot of other brands as well. The new guns had the best prices. A lot of the used guns were priced too high. I almost bought a Ruger 10/22. They were $209 for a wood stock and $239 for stainless steel new in the box. I saw used ones higher.

There was actually quite a bit of ammo there. It was high but not as bad as I was expecting. I bought $100 worth. I got some hard ball 380, yes they had 380. $20 for a 50 rd box. I got some 9mm hardball and some 9mm and 357 hollowpoints. I got plenty of 38s.
I was well pleased and had a great time. I got there at 8.30 and left at 2 pm. Walking for that long on concrete makes an old man tired. Now got to save my money for the next show.

Sounds like you did pretty good. There is going to be a gunshow in our area in a couple of weeks. Just bought a new S&W M&P 15T. Havent been to a gun show since I was a kid. Now I want to go and see what good deals may be had. Any tips or info on how to spot some good deals on ammo or accessories?? Thanks

Did you see any Latin gentlemen buying hand grenades, rocket launchers, and 50 caliber machine guns? I'm sure there were tables full of antitank guns for our customers from south of the boarder. Afterall, 90% of the arms used in the Mexican Drug War come from America. Surely you saw some of this contraband, didn't you? Hillary needs to know this! Let her know immediately so she can contact the Attorney General!

As a price check, what were the Mini-14s going for?
Take a close look a the new 10/22s, they have plastic trigger guard assemblies now.

I saw several in the 700 to 750 range.

The gun show here 2 weeks ago was a wash. EBR's were all priced high but there were quite a few of them. I do wish I had found some .380, no one had any. I saw an overpriced LCP as well but from memory they were asking $400-ish which is much cheaper than what you saw. I paid $330 for mine a year ago. I will admit it was cool seeing a Barrett 50 cal in person but I surely didn't have the $9k to buy it.

This is the first 380 I've seen in a while. I'm glad I stockpiled some the last 4 or 5 years.

My LCP is my only .380 so I had no reason to stockpile. Now that you can't find the stuff I wish I had bought more last year. Then again, I just ought my 1st .223/5.56 rifle 2 weeks ago and we know that stuff isn't getting any cheaper!

I must have went to a different show in Smyrna. The last two were good, but I thought this one stunk.

I guess it depends what you were looking for. And I am baseing this on last weeks Nashville show.

About two or three times a year there is a pretty good show in Sparta. About four times a year there is a really good small show in Cave City Kentucky. It is just off I-65.
