Just got my M&P 10!

Love mine. I'm still gonna get an M&P15, just because. But I've always been a big bore person, so I'm sure the M&P10 will stay my favorite. ;-)

Ha ha how can you go back? It's like someone on here said once... When you're at an event or the range and all the 15s are shooting, then out of all of the tap tap tap there's a BOOM! BOOM! That probably sums it up.

At my gun club we now have to shoot through 50 foot long concrete tubes (designed by NRA engineers) out to 200 - 250 yards. The tubes keep rounds from going astray (supposedly this had happened).

Anyway, when that .308 goes off the percussion in the tube sounds like rolling thunder. :D So the guy a mile or so down range who claimed his house was shot up gets to hear some REAL music now.

Congratulations! Welcome to the wonderful world of M&P 10! Are you thinking a lighter tactical build or longer range precision? Well, as much precision you can get from AR platform.... I may have opened a can of worms with that statement. LOL

No can of worms as far as I'm concerned. I actually believe more precision can be had from an AR platform than most would give credit. Ever watched the 10th Annual International Sniper Competition. Spoiler alert if you haven't seen the DVD and plan to, stop reading...anyway the winning team has one member shooting a 16" Larue OBR. Magpul Dynamics Precision Rifle DVD has Travis Haley shooting a Direct Impingement .308 AR and hitting a 16" plate at a mile. So can the AR platform work for the long range precision world, I'd say yes. I'm aware others will always disagree. Anyway I ramble, congrats to the new owner!

I guess it depends on the quality of the shooter and the weapon. I've seen videos of people doing amazing things with pistols and revolvers that I definitely couldn't do. Ha ha

And that's what Bill Me Later is for :), I've used it for heaps of things.

But a little thing known as chapter 13 makes bill me later impossible. Lol I used it before and plan on using it to re-establish my credit. ;-) gun accessories may be what helps me rebuild it. ;-) that's what I'll tell the wife anyway.

I have not seen either of these yet. I will be now, that sounds freaking awesome. I'm actually just starting to get into long range and precision shooting. I bought my first AR (M&P15) about 2.5 years ago and did the typical buy as much useless accessories first, then decide how I'm going to use the rifle. LOL. Next, I bought a Mini 14 and added a Nikon scope to try 100-200yd shooting and have been hooked since. Now for 2014 I'm on a mission to reach out to 500 maybe 700yd. I feel I have built this M&P10 to get the job done... Wish me luck!

Congrats man - you put yours up right when I am putting my M&P 10 up for sale! It is over in the sales forum now if anyone wants to take a peek. :)

Congrats!!! I have mine in stock configuration just like yours for now, and could not be happier! next on the list-a custom build on an M&P 15
lower reciever! Oh-which scope are you gonna use-just curious! I am considering the Nikon 308bdc/mildot but am open to suggestions. Great photo on a great firearm. Are you going to use it on Police duty or just for fun? I am sure it will work great for either activity. Take care.

Really just fun and hunting. I have a Nikon prostaff for now. I'll upgrade the optics eventually.
