A "friend" gave me 5 sealed cans of Old Hercules Reloader 11 and another pound of Reloader 10. Rifle powders but in these times We can't turn down a gift. I know this powder was DCd in the early 70s. Does anyone have a copy of the old Hercules free data manuals from that era? I'm hoping there is some data for 223 as I am on the verge of loading a large batch. Yep I am cheap. I'd like to use this free gift.
'I do have RL 10 data... Also gave me a can of RL 21 but am pretty certain it is too slow for 223. Thanks for any help

Wow that is a real help. I happen to have all those bullets...Plus I have all those powders. I think I have 'nuff powder here to load 40-50,000 223s...but only half 'nuff primers. Thanks for the help. I was looking in the storage bench and found a whole bunch of the small sample containers from my days at the Shot Show. Hodgdon was 4 ounce and Hercules/Alliant was 8 ounce. I even have a couple cans of Bl-C(not 2) surplus powder. I'm going to load up all that old powder first..just range fodder and/or PD ammo. I did find a bunch of 53-52 gr match bullets. Thanks

The 52 gr JHP bullet was very accurate in my rifle with the 55 gr coming in a strong second.

You just need to see what powder and fps your rifle likes best.

Have fun.

I have a bolt gun and a semi auto. Both are very accurate with most loads. The bolt gun shoots the Tulammo steel case ammo FMJs great. The semi auto Varminter shoots a 40 gr V max really well. Shoot a yote and only one small hole on the entrance side unless very close shots. It also shoots Sierra 52 gr BTHPs better than I can...and both 40 and 52 gr to almost the same point of aim.

Was looking out in the grudge this afternoon and found a gallon jug of powder marked BR 28 / Gonna have to do a little research on it but think it was a surplus powder that turned in great groups in Benchrest shooting...maybe the powder that caused the re-birth of 8208 BR
