This forum has the most active participation I have found.

I shoot a FS M&P 40.

Welcome! :)

Of the 3 S&W based Forums I belong to, this one is by far, the most active... Especially with Shield info.

Welcome from The Land of Oz.
Be careful about looking in the revolver section of the forum. It can cause strange desires that can lead to onerous temptations and terrible habits.

Welcome to the forum, I've been a participant for a number of years now. This is one of the best source for S&W products I have found on the web. You will be glad you signed up. Happy shooting and be safe.

BTW I have been a S&W enthusiast for 43 years, one of the best firearm manufacturers on earth.

Welcome from Florida. There is a lot of good info here and nice helpful people, though it may well start putting ideas into your head about other things to spend money on. Not that that is a bad thing necessarily.

Thank you all for this very nice welcome
I have only had my 2 M&P's a short time and do have several questions but I don't want to bombard you all at once with questions

The [Search] Button on the top bar (just above your name) does a pretty good job of finding threads of the most common issues. MANY times, just scanning the Subject Lines of the first 5 pages of threads will find what you're looking for.

Some of the more common subjects (for the Shield) are:

  1. *** The Mags are hard to load (answer: Buy an UpLula) ***
  2. Slide is hard to rack, or can't lock it open (answer: It will get easier as it gets broken in)
  3. Shield Shoots Left, or Low-Left (answer: adjust your grip and finger placement... and lots of dry fire practice)
  4. The Recoil Spring (RSA) is hard to seat/reinstall (one answer: Refer to the Manual pics, another: Be patient and don't force/manhandle it)
  5. Are there any .40 to 9mm Conversion Barrels? (answer: No)
  6. The Slide doesn't return to battery when I Press Check (answers: Lube as the manual shows, Just nudge it back into battery, and my favorite - Keep 1 in the chamber at ALL times and you won't need to Press Check)
These are just the top 6 off the top of my head. :) :D
