There are many movie buffs and film fans here. While there thousands of films I would not seek out to watch, as they do not interest me, and all the others I love. But there are also those I would not watch again after the first time. I have 2 on that list. Blue Velvet and Midnight Express. What are some others you all do not want to see again?

I liked Blue Velvet, and would watch it again.

My all time "let-me-outta-here" flick is Endless Love which was heavily marketed way back when as featuring, however briefly, Brooke Shields, a famous young model then, in her birthday suit. The movie was so dang awful I walked out before her birthday suit showed up.

Also, The Exorcist. Walked out of that one, too.

In recent years I take greater care in choosing movies to watch, and especially in theaters.

1: The Elephant Man.

I saw it in the early 80's with Ruthie and while well made and brilliantly acted it ripped my heart out. I was so visibly shaken that neither I nor Ruthie can ever bring ourselves to watch it again.

2: The English Patient.

If sitting through that didn't prove my love to Ruthie then nothing will.

Irreversible (2002).

The only movie I've ever seen I wish I could unwatch, and I watch a LOT of movies. If you've seen it you know what I mean.

I warned my son and nephew not to watch it, but they both did. They told me later they wished they had listened.

Schindler's List. This is a truly outstanding and profound movie but just could not stand to which it again. It really depressed me to see what depravity some people can inflict on their fellow man. Just thinking about it depresses me. However every one should see it at least once.

Dr. Zhivago.
One more panning of the Ruskie countryside with nothing but snow, snow, snow would put me in therapy.
And people who apparently die should stay dead!
Don't show up later in the endlessly long movie!

1. Back to the Future. I found the Michael J. Fox character dumb and unsympathetic.
2. J.D.'s Revenge-that was just plain B-A-A-D !

Clearly some movies that are highly rated are totally beyond me I watched part of Titanic and that thing was horrible, no way you could pay me to watch all of it

"You've Got Mail", but probably not for the reason you think.

I was out with MrsB and we were about halfway through the movie when I got a call that my good friend's daughter had committed suicide and somebody had to go and tell him. One of those responsibilities that you just can't delegate.

I've never been able to watch that movie again, so I've never seen the last half.

"Battlefield Earth".

Even Forest Whitaker and Barry Pepper couldn't save this stinker.
I don't know if it was all THAT bad. But I had read the book, and that helped the movie make a lot more sense. Admittedly it wasn't that good either though, and Travolta wasn't that good as Terl - not big enough or scary enough.

It is kinda like the mid-80's version of Dune. If you hadn't read the book the movie really didn't make that much sense. If you read the book it gave you enough background for the movie to be much better.

The exact same thing can be said of Battlefield Earth.

My "never watch again" would be Night of the Living Dead. That movie STUNK.

There's an insane Asian movie called "Deep Hypothermia" that I watched (most of) on HBO one night. Talk about time I'll never get back. I also walked out on "An American Werewolf in London". Actually, there's very few stalk and slash movies I like. They always have that stupid "Billy?" moment. You know, the girl stands in the threshold of the room where the light switch doesn't work and asks "Billy, is that you?", while something in there sounds like a Velociraptor with a sinus infection. Stoooopid.

That's another one I kind of enjoyed, mostly because so much of it was so intentionally campy and tongue-in-cheek.

I'm with you. Most of them remind me of the Gieco commercial...
"When you're in a horror film you make bad decisions..."

I couldn't think...then.........

'The Piano'. A chick flick about a mute woman who's mute on purpose and gets victimized so she has to have sex for every key on the piano. It's not that it's a chick flick. I often end up enjoying ones my wife picks out and I loved 'Terms of Endearment'. But at the mention of 'The Piano' I run the other way.

'Tarzan' with Bo Derek and Richard Harris. Richard Harris is one of my favorite actors but toward the end he had to take on some rotten parts.

'Catwoman' with Pfieiffer. ANYBODY could have written a better script.

'Caligula'. An all star cast of respected actors are duped into making what turns out to be mostly a porn film.

'Howard the Duck'. An incomprehensible mess.

'Batman and Robin' What a piece of trash.

'The Last Airbender' We are all fans of the series, but the movie was a failure.

I'm not including movies that have been sequeled to death. There's just too many of them.

Mine is "Breakfast at Tiffany's". I've never been able to sit through it, and I certainly won't watch it again. In my not-so-humble-opinion, it is the most over-rated movie of all time. Starring Audrey Hepburn, directed by Blake Edwards, story by Truman Capote, and apparently loved by movie fans and critics alike, how could it go so terribly wrong for me? To begin with, it is billed as a "romantic comedy", but it is neither very romantic nor very funny. However, the main problem I have with it is Audrey Hepburn's performance. I don't know if it is the directing, the script, or Audrey's acting, but her Holly Golightly character is completely insufferable. Holly is trying so hard to be eccentric, she comes across as a boring, annoying jerk. This may have been considered "cute and quaint" at the time, but I've never bought it. When you can't relate to the female lead in a "romantic comedy", the movie is a Fail. However, there is a lesson here: If you want to be an insufferable, but boring jerk, try real hard to be "eccentric".

Leaving Las Vegas was the only movie that I ever walked out of before it was over. Watching drunks destroy themselves just isn't entertaining for some reason.

Most of Eastwoods Spaghetti western's only one fit to watch again is Hang-Em High. All the rest the lip movements are so far out of synch with the audio they are terrible. Not to mention the plots/story lines and crummy in the first place.

It would take a lot of space to list all the bad movies. What about the mediocre ones? Certainly such lists would be far, far, longer than the list of good films.

The only movie I've ever walked out of -- and I've seen several of those mentioned in earlier posts -- was the 1991 remake of "Cape Fear." I hadn't seen the original from the 1950s. Maybe it was the mood I was in that night, or maybe it was just inexplicable, but I had a bad feeling about where the story was headed, and I beat feet after only a few minutes.

I enjoy Scorcese movies, and DeNiro is one of my favorite actors. Nick Nolte and Jessica Lange were in it, and I like them too. Apparently the movie got good reviews. I still don't know anything about how the storyline proceeds. Maybe I should try it again sometime.

"Noah" was the worst movie I ever seen. I like Russell Crowe but my gosh I'm embrassed that he allowed himself to be cast in that movie.

"The Road" Toward the end I wanted one of the 2 bullets for me.
"Monster" I needed a shower after this stinker.
"Goodburger" My son was small at the time so I sat through it in agony.
There are so many "bombs" but the coffee hasn't jump started my brain yet. Joe

I watched the "Amityville Horror" and it gave me the creeps so bad I'll never watch it again or anything like it. What probably didn't help was that to me the house in "Amityville Horror" looked just like a family member's house.
