...my favorite S&W revolver, my Model 10-6. I have shot countless rounds through this gun and it is as comfortable as an old pair of shoes. The action has gotten smoother after years of use and I can shoot this revolver better than any handgun that I own. There are a lot of guns out there that are prettier than this one but this one is beautiful to me. And, it is the CTG version.

Do you think I would be OK to shoot +P ammo in it?

How much Plus P are you going to run, If your going to buy a box of defense ammo and run 12 through it to confirm POA then carry a cylinder full then the gun will handle that,

I wouldn't run 300 rounds in a shooting session through it. Why wear out your gun for no reason.

NYPD S&W Model 10's made from 1980 onward were subjected to 1000's of rounds of range firing annually for years without ill effects. FWIW.

IIRC, Smith and Wesson advises that any of their revolvers that have a model number instead to a model name can safely shoot +p ammo. 38 special +P ammo is as much marketing hype as anything else.

A steady diet of +p will have no measurable effect on your M10. As was mentioned above, those produced with model numbers rather than model names are modern era guns that have the metallurgy to handle +p.

It is a k frame modern revolver. Shoot as much +p as you want through it. Wear it out and I'll buy it from you.

I would limit +P to no more than 100,000 rounds. Maybe 200,000. Anything after that may cause increased wear.
