My dad was in appliance sales in the early 50s and I still remember when he brought home the color tv. We were beside ourselves. What an era to have grown up in those times.

Jack Webb later changed the intro from "I'm a cop" to "I carry a badge." He thought that was more respectful.

No hijack intended. But,since it was also a Jack Webb brainchild, "1-Adam 12.1 Adam 12 See the man....."

Another one I have in my collection is "He walked by night".
As far as I know, that was the original of all these. Kinda of a
pilot Dragnet movie.. Webb looks pretty young in that one.
I have the SD version off of TCM, but it's also on internet archive.
Adam 12 is on Hulu.

Always liked Jack Webb, a real pro. After seeing The D.I., I became a life-long fan. No one could have done the role any better. If you have missed it, give it a lookup, you won't regret it.
