Saw where "Justified City Primeval" is premiering on July 18 on FX. I personally think the original was the best show on television. EVERY character on the show was well cast and had interesting story lines, with the possibile exception of Darrell Crowe in Season 4. On my third trip thru the original now in anticipation of the sequel. Moving the setting from Eastern Kentucky to Detroit ought to be quite a culture shock for Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens. Looking forward to it anyway, even though it is only an 8 part limited series so far. Hopefully, FX will pick it up for a full run.

I never missed it. One reason was that I am a native son of that general part of the country, and some of the characters portrayed are like those hillbillies I grew up around and went to school with.

Characters over-broadly drawn and even more broadly acted, and courtroom scenes almost as absurdly bad as those of "Longmire" -- but, I liked the show and look forward to its resurrection.

Watched it for entertainment value. Like most shows, never took it seriously.

Seeing as his character started out in S. Florida in the opening episodes, I think he is beyond cultural shock by now.

Where are you watching the old episodes? I would like to watch them, hearing a lot of good things about the series.

They stream the whole series on HULU, plus I have all the DVD's. I'm such a fan that I found a really nice Stetson Carson on ebay that was in Silverbelly and JUST MY SIZE, lol. Had it reshaped and a 1/4 inch cut from the brim to pretty much duplicate the one he wore in the first season. Even found a matching hatband at a Cavenders. I'm a hat guy anyway, so this was a no brainer.

This holiday season Santa treated me to the Justified blu ray complete box set; and we binged the entire series over winter. Both my Mrs and I love the writing and characters, definitely for us one of the best shows tv has ever shown.
Will be looking forward to the new series even if it is just limited run, with at least some of the same folks behind the scenes it should continue as top notch entertainment.

I was a long time fan of Elmore Leonard’s work when Justified was initially announced. Big fan of the series. I only have season 1 on bluray, don’t have Hulu to watch the rest of the seasons. I’m definitely looking forward to the follow up. Givens had a great line about Constable Bob and people underestimating him.

"People often underestimate Constable Bob at their own peril" :)
