"Justified" returns!

I got my own "Apple Pie" recipe, enjoyed watching the series as it unrolled. I think Oyphant's "Gary Cooper" swagger was much better in Deadwood, which was head and shoulders above Justified. The amount of time they put into making sure everything was correct was truly amazing, they studied letters written at the time and did the best they could to replicate the spoken word, very proper grammar in many cases with expletives used freely. I rate Deadwood over Lonesome Dove (original) and second only to The Wild Bunch as favorite western...the Wild Bunch gets the nod because I was just a kid going into the Army when it came out, Sam Peckinpah at his best...so many of the old great western actors way past their prime, riding off into the sunset in style.

I bought the series a year after it ended from Sony for an "arm & a leg"...... BUT, .... I've watched it so many times since then I've got my cost per episode down to about a nickel each :) .... "You're still in the limo"

“Justified” was one of the last scripted shows I watched regularly. My favorite episode was the one where Raylan worked with a DEA agent who carried a GP-100 and drove a Grand Marquis. When I went to work the day after the episode aired several people stopped me with comments like “saw you on Justified last night”. They all said the character reminded them of me, mostly because I was well known for my GP-100 and Mercury sedan.

Can't wait! It would be hard to make Raylan "Woke." I am holding out hope that it has the same flavor.

I hope you are correct but there are many ways to screw up a well-liked character in a spin-off or reboot. I would mention Steve McGarrett in Hawaii Five-0 remake or Cordell Walker in the "Walker" series, to name just a few. Neither resembled the characters from the original series.

Tim Gutterson

Tim, the ex Ranger sniper is my favorite from original show.

Loved the exchange between him and Art after a shoot of a bad guy who had a hostage.

Art: Did you consider what might have happened if you missed?

Tim: I can't carry a tune. I don't know how to shoot a basketball. My handwriting is barely legible.

But I don't miss.

I watched a few episodes of Justified when it first came out, and don’t remember why I stopped watching it. I have a few streaming services including Paramount Plus, Apple TV, and Prime, but unfortunately, I don’t have Hulu. I was thinking maybe I could binge watch it before Justified: City Primeval came out. But, that is a no go. I was hoping FX might even show the old series before the new one came out kinda like Yellowstone does.

Do you think watching Justified: City Primeval will be worth it without knowing the Justified series? Thanks for your advice.
