Wife and I stopped by the LGS yesterday to spread our charm and Christmas wishes around. Just visiting of course, I'm not buying anymore guns. Anyone else ever said that?

I looked into the used revolver case, out of habit, and noticed something different. I couldn't read the tag, so I asked to see it. It turned out to be a five screw K-22, (22 LR) six inch barrel, diamond Magna stocks (number to the gun), the normal stuff you'd expect to see. A little freckling here and there, but nothing a little oil, a rag and a light application of elbow grease won't take care of I don't think. Bore and charge holes look good. The stock screw was a little boogered up, but the rest looked good. The stocks themselves were not beat up. I didn't dry fire it, but working the action felt smooth as silk. No box or papers.

Whipping out my SCSW4 on my phone, I checked the S/N K123XXX, which as best I can tell, someone who knows more can correct me, makes it 1946?

I don't have a 22 handgun. I had been thinking I might buy one of those Phoenix HP22's just for grins and giggles, but I think I might like this one better. I asked if they could do anything for me on the price, frankly not expecting anything a week before Christmas. They did me a little better.

I stuck it on hold for a few days to "think about it." Yea, right. Think about it.

K-128538 shipped in Jan 1952. I would think that is a 1951 or 1952 shipped gun.

I just blew the picture with the tag on it and noticed that I should not have trusted my old memory. The S/N is actually K128909. So I'm going to claim it as a 1952 model, which is good. I'm a 52 model myself, and I've never had a birth year gun. I've been close. 51, 53, 55, but no 52's.

Thanks. No chance now I won't get it. :D

That is narrow escape, a K22 instead of a Phoenix.

I still might get a Phoenix later. They're cheap, and I want to see just how bad/good they are. Heck I had a Hi-Point once, and it was a pretty decent gun.

Manufactured in 1951 but maybe shipped in 1952. 1951 production numbers were K104,048 to K136,690. So what was the number on the price tag?

It was $699.00 and they knocked some off. I really didn't expect anything, a week from Christmas, but figured it cost nothing to ask.

It appears to have the high-horn stocks with the plastic medallions which were used 51-52 IMMIC...

I thought looking at the medallions there was something different about them. I knew about the plastic ones, but I don't think I've ever seen any, so I wasn't sure.

Great guns! I have 2 that I have around $700 in both. One I bought at an auction for $325. It just needs a box it's that good. The other one I got at a gun show for around $350. It's in excellent condition also.
