I have been wanting a nice floral carved holster for my '48 K-22 and this weekend I came across this one at a small gun show. Stamped on back "Warshals Sporting Goods Co., Seattle, Wash. 96F K-22 6". Any idea on who actually made it? It cost me $20.

Why not call up Warshal's and ask them? 1-206-624-7300. They are still in business after 81 years. Current owner is Jerry Warshal, a descendent of the original owners ,Adolf & William Warshal. - But, better hurry, as the store will be closing march 31, 2011, and then torn down for a high rise hotel & condo development.

That's a great looking old holster, but personally I wouldn't put the gun it much, if at all. It doesn't appear to have any type of lining, and that is a nice looking old K-22. Too nice to risk doing any damage to the finish from an unlined holster. Especially since I can see that at least the rivet at the back doesn't have any protection, and I doubt the safety strap does either.
MHO YMMV

Your holster was made by A. E. Nelson. His grandchildren
still make holsters for the Oregon State Police.A.E. made
holsters for a number of West Coast gun stores, sporting goods
shops & other retail establishments.

gun 4 fun, you are right, there is no liner, and that particular gun probably wont see much time in that holster, others will. Turnerriver, thanks so much, I knew there would those of you who would know.
