Finally got around to asking this question. I bought a 1947 K-22 several years ago. The gun was and still is in fantastic condition. Yes, I do shoot it. I knew going in that stocks were not numbered to the gun, but appeared to be period correct. The serial number of the revolver is K 13XX. The number on the right hand stock is 864139, which would date the stocks to 1969, well past the sharp shoulder, diamond magna era. Please tell me if I'm missing something.

Yes, proper era, wrong number. But I’ve seen a few double stamped stocks, so maybe these were originally on a .38 M & P and “repurposed” to your K-22.

Thanks for the help. It appears that both of you are correct. I was obviously focused on the wrong section of the S/N section in the book. Thanks a ton.

Notice also the divot for the round head screw. That is further evidence that these were on an M&P from late 1946. I could be wrong, but I doubt any K-22 ever had the round head screw in the rear of the side plate.
