Put some new original grips on the K22 the grips that came with it were original but had a little piece of wood missing. Thanks for the grips Randy. Wanted to ask if someone could provide a approximate date is was made. I am guessing 1947???? Serial number is K70714 Thanks

You're quite welcome, but the thanks should go to the good Dr. Roy Jinks who saw fit to include a table of post-war K frame serial numbers (by year from 1946 through 1983) in his book History of Smith & Wesson---almost 300 pages worth------and ain't NOBODY can carry all that around in their head.

For another reference on the ship date - K71488 shipped in April 1949... so the OP's K-22 may have shipped as late as early 1949.:)
