Can accuracy be improved by polishing the forcing cone if there are visible cutter marks on it?

The one contributing factor to accuracy loss that I see often is leading. In the barrel, cylinders and forcing cone. I have seen more of it recently over the last few years than ever! I don't know exactly why, but I'd bet that the current crop of 22 rimfire ammo is a bit less quality controlled than it used to be. I have also noticed that the velocity threshold on high velocity ammo in the marketplace has risen adding to more leading I suspect. Example: Winchester red sleeved box of 100 Hi vel. is now 1330 fps were as hi vel stuff used to be around 1220 IMS.
I use an oversized cotton bore mop with some JB Bore Compound on it to polish the cylinders and use a slightly oversized bronze bore brush on the barrel and FC. Accuracy is quickly restored.
Note: I remove the EJ when JB-ing the cyl so the compound does not stay inside. I can't imagine it would be a good thing!
