I'm not sure if there's "ettiquette" required that I'm not aware of (like not giving the whole serial number or something?)...but I need to ask for some help looking up a couple of K-22s. Can someone help me out, please?

One is a serial number 7xxx...and the other one is a serial number 73xxx. I'm looking for some information about their manufacturing dates and possibly their value. Both are operational, but fairly worn. Does anyone out there have a catalog or something that might be able to look up when they were produced?

Hi Williards, and welcome to the forum. A bunch of people here love K-22s.

You're fine with serial number etiquette. Some people are OK with reporting entire serial numbers or showing them in photos, but others prefer to X out the last couple of numbers to preserve some confidentiality.

I presume the numbers you report were taken from the butts of the gun and that each number is preceded by a K, though perhaps seemingly removed from the numerals by several spaces. The K is actually part of the serial number.

Your K7xxx gun was probably shipped in 1947. The K73xxx gun is a couple of years later -- probably 1949, but maybe early 1950. Serial numbers are just a rough guide to shipping date, because the company did not always ship in serial number order.

Can you post pictures of them?

Actually, because of the age of the guns, you might want to start another thread in the 1896-1961 subforum to talk about them. You'll get a lot of responses!
