I need a question answered. My wonderful wife got me a K-32 for my christmas present but it did not come with the original box. Mr. Jinks said serial number K2220XX was shipped in December 1954.

GB item 154921689 is listing a box and I wanted to verify it is from the correct time period.

What do you all think? Is it the right box?

Yep. That's the one. Price looks a little high to me for the condition though. They show up with great frequency and historically bring less money than any of the gold picture boxes, with the exception of some of the M&P boxes. If I were you,I'd look a while longer,or maybe post a WTB here. JMO,FWIW. :)

I have to agree with F.T. on this one. As he said there seems to be quite a few mint K-32 boxes out there. The K-32 was a slow seller and I think perhaps S&W had a lot more boxes than there were orders for the guns so most are seen without any serial number markings on the bottom.

yessir,, FT is "correct" and take your time, there are still quite a few of them out there, "brand new" never used" , I know ,we had a BUNCH of them over the years ,had gotten them from Harrison Carrol I believe way back, and was told they had come from the 'S&W Service center', out in California, they can identified easily by the fact the top ( lid) edges are "frayed"................last one I had ( and used) was for a gun we had sold for a guy and I believe, the OTHER 'Carrol' ( Dave) ended up with that one....wow, wish I had them ALL still today, they just keep going UP and UP.......patience, you'll find one for your gun......nice wife I say......
