A lady, whom I am fixing to marry, gave me her husbands, M14-3. He passed 4 or 5 years ago and I agreed to help her sell his guns. She gave me the K38 but would like the value. 98% + condition, virtually unfired. Just a approximate value.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Typical best place for up to date pricing is to check GB for the ended auctions.
You can then see what someone actually paid for one, instead of people's ideas of their value.

I know about gunbroker.com. I also saw the broad range of prices

However, there are collectors, here on S&W forum, whom have an excellent idea of prices and can narrow it down.

But thanks for your thoughts

I paid $550 for my M14-3 about three years ago on Gun Broker. It was sold as 98%, but I would say less than 95%. I think I paid too much.

My best recollection on this 14-3 is that I paid $475 last year. It was wearing custom stocks at the time. I believe they were Fuzzy, Speigal or early Hogue. There were widely ranging opinions on that aspect. No expert here, but I'm thinking $450-$575 without holding it in my hands. If someone got a gun as you described for $350 they would probably think they got a good deal. The members in the thread (link below) might be able to put more light on the subject.

I would say $400-450 if it is a 6", and a little more if an 8 3/8" or you have the original box and contents, if you are looking for a reasonably quick sale. Member 5Wire here may track this model (through lots of data and a spreadsheet) and can give a specific value answer.

Like the first responder said,
Look at Gunbroker for "Completed Sale"
prices on guns that are similar in condition
to yours. Not what different people are "asking"
for.

I agree as I bought a near mint one last year for $430 shipped to my dealer.
