K Frame Factory grip question.

I traded for a really nice model 66-2 this weekend. I want to keep the factory grips on it and qualify, and occasionally carry it on duty. What have you guys found is the best cleaner/preserver for factory wooden grips. They aren’t in terrible shape.

I always wiped my blue steel Model 15 down w/a silocone cloth at the end of my tour of duty. It kept the grips looking great and rust off the gun.

Renaissance Wax! Order off the internet, I use my finger to coat the whole gun (inc grips). Let dry for a couple minutes and buff with a microfiber rag. Beautiful and protected!

And btw, congrats on an awesome revolver! You’ll love it! One gun that everyone should own.

I remove dirt and grime with a wet cloth then use Johnson paste wax and a shoe buffer. The wax wont hurt the gun either.

We used liquid car wax on our blued service revolvers to keep them looking good, and, along w/a silocone cloth, helped keep rust at bay.
