k frame grips

ok, this may be dumb or i may be dumb. probably the latter... i have a model 12-3 k frame and the grips are different than my 66. not sure if this just on the model 12 or if there are other models of k frames that this applies to. i am by far nooo expert, so any insight would be a big help. i got a set of hogues for the mod 12 and they dont fit at the top of the grip portion of the frame at all. they fit my 66's perfect. is it just this model of airweight? i have heard of the "thin frame" before and am sceptical. im sure many of you are able to give some insight to me. thanks ahead of time to all who answer, and help!

The airweight frame, through the -3 model IIRC, is about .080 thinner than the steel K frames.
Only the original S&W stocks will fit it correctly.
Hope you didn't throw away those special magnas.
