I need recomendations for a good 4" model 66-2. I have leather and Kydex holsters for my auto but I want a retention holster for the K frame. I don't want it to fall out but I don'r want a strap I have to undo either.

I like the Bianchi 5 BHL but Safariland and Galco made similar models. The middle three on the top row. The bottom row is the Bianchi Shadow 8L, sadly discontinued but can still be found.

Welcome to the forum. As for the holster, if you don't want a strap, here
is my suggestion: Chic Gaylord, in Handgunner's Guide, taught us that
you should be able to put your gun in a well made leather holster, hold
it upside down over your bed, or other soft landing surface, and shake
it. It should not come out. The tension provided by the skill of the
maker should be enough to accomplish what you want.

There are several good makers who are members of this forum. Check
them out, and I believe you can get what you want.

You should probably ask this question in the Gun Leather & Carry Gear section of the forum. You'll stand a better chance of your question getting noticed and getting informed replies.

But while I'm at it, welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum. First, are you looking for a IWB or OWB, Leather, Kydex or combination. Strong side or cross draw. Lots of different choices out there.

I had one made for my 4" 66-1 by Forum member Snubbyfan up in West Virginia. Didn't even need to send my gun to him; he already had one to go by. Did a beautiful job. There are other fine leatherworkers on here as well.

Welcome from Montana!
I use a Kramer horsehide OWB holster for my 66....exceeds all that you have asked for.
