K Frame Ropers?

I recently bought a pre-war K-22 which had these stocks on it and they look all the world like Roper targets I have seen in threads here. They fit very well and are fairly worn but so is the gun. Just wondering.

Not always true. Not by a long shot. But in this case, those ARE genuine Ropers.

Now we need to see the K-22 Outdoorsman that wears them. There are very few guns more beautiful to me than a well-worn K-22 Outdoorsman with well-worn Ropers...

I have the KB copies of that design in a lighter color. I gotta say though, I'd like a pair just like yours - wear and all.

If you like a well-worn K-22 Outdoorsman, you will love this one as it looks to have been through a couple of lifetimes. However, I plan to wait until the letter comes back before posting any pics of it. In single action, it has a hair trigger so I figure it may have been used in a few target matches.

My only Ropers are on a 10" H&R USRA Pistol, AKA Model 195. Strangely enough, each grip panel has ONE square jig imprint.

You actually have acquired a great treasure, IMHO. I’ve always admired that exact style of Ropers... K-frame, no thumb rest, a little “coke bottle” shape to the profile. What’s not to love?

Unfortunately, The folks at Altamont got the idea that Ropers were supposed to have a thin profile and their modern interpretation loses a lot as a result of this misperception. . I wish somebody would show them this set of grips! Nothing beats the original.
