K22 Hamilton Zip Sets, a timely redo

I have posted these pictures in the past and decided it's been a while and there are probably some that have never seen them.

Pictured below is the the Hamilton Zip Set speedloaders for the K22 revolver.

These were manufactured in the 50's and were used at the ranges for competition shooting. They work rather well even though the technology is rather antiquated.

The series of pictures should give you a visual on how they function.

Very cool, as all of your stuff is. When things were made of metal and wood, not plastic and ... even more plastic, there was a pride of ownership because someone made something and had a pride of craftsmanship.
We still like the things that were made well from back in the day. I wonder if the next generation will?

We have similar tastes bd. I have a Zip Set and a couple variations of the Badger or whatever the name is for the cedar .22 ammo boxes. I seem to recall reading somewhere that Hamilton also made a Zip Set in .38 Special but have never seen one.

That was going to be my question. I own one of the .22 Hamilton Zip sets and just wondered to myself if they were made in any other calibers?

The bullet box in the middle is an 'Al Freeland' manufactured item. I have a few of those.

I have never seen a Hamilton Zip set speed loader for anything but the K22 model gun.
I remember seeing my first one back in the mid 70's.

I sold two last September at the OGCA, one for 200 the other for 175. Had a third one that I donated to a small auction in Troy Mich. it sold for 450!!!

Here are a few that I have accumulated over the years. The .22 cal. boxes are of unknown maker, either Badger or Al Freeland I presume and are made of cedar. The Hamilton Zip Set appears to be mahogany and the A&F .38 Wadcutter box is walnut.

The quality of manufacturing and precision inletting of the Zip Set is impressive. I have done searches for the manufacturer Lyco Products of South San Francisco CA and found nothing. I'm guessing a mid-1950's manufacturing period ?

Here's a close up of what is left of the Abercrombie & Fitch decal that was on top of the .38 Wadcutter box

The .38 Wadcutter box will only hold loaded rounds with the bullet seated flush with the case mouth, clearly a Bullseye target shooter's accessory

I would have posted some newer pictures, but, the resources in my PC won't allow much more than just surfing around.

I know that over the years there has been dialogue on the Hamiliton Zip Sets on the Forum, but, I suspect there are many who haven't seen them.
I have a new PC being built right now and should have it up and running in a few days.

GREAT PHOTOS!!! I have never seen any of the boxes, but have a round set. It is in great shape and has instructions. I have considered Posting it for sale as I have voided myself of all but two of my K 22's. THANKS for sharing.
