K22 Issues

I had my 1948 K22 out at the range on Thursday. Noticed something a bit off on it for the first time. About half the time it operates perfectly, smooth as butter. The other half of the time the trigger binds up about half way through the double action trigger pull. It gets pretty darn hard to pull. You can pul through it though and it still fires and cycles the cylinder. This same think happens when cocking the hammer manually, about half the time it's really hard to pull that hammer back.

I keep the gun real clean but just basic cleaning. I've never had the side plate off and worked on the internals.

Any ideas or advise?

Could be crud under the ejector star from shooting. Causing it to stand proud of the cylinder. Got a 19 that will do that sometimes.

I had a mod-15 like that.

It was a bent ejector rod. I just set it on my table saw and straightened out with a hammer and an oak dowel. There is probably a more sophisticated way, but it worked.

I figured out it was probably bent by my son flipping/slamming/snapping the cylinder closed like a movie star. (chastise a'comin)

Nah, but he for sure needs a lecture about treating tools with the care they deserve.

I had a 1917 do that and it was the screw in front of trigger guard when I took side plate off and cleaned it there was some crud in that cylinder stop thingy that the 4th screw holds in I also had a old S&W 38 M&P do that cause I unscrewed the mainspring screw too much .. hope this helps cause ,you guys on here have sure educated me a bunch of times..thanks
