I consider myself extremely lucky to find this 17-2 at the Tulsa gun show taday. After visiting with the gentleman twice at his table, offered him 600, and he took it. Target trigger and stocks, just enough wear. I am a happy camper.

Anyone care to chime in on the mfg. date. Ser # is K782XXX.

Thanks.

Fantastic. Great condition but not so pristine I'd hesitate to shoot it.

Good buy! There's not a sweeter .22 handgun than a Model 17. Just pure joy to shoot.

Fine work Reloader. Your gun is missing one thing, though. A nice coat or Ren Wax !!!!! Ha. Very nice gun.

To elaborate on the Tulsa show yesterday, it was a great time as always. Prices (on the stuff I was intersted in, at least) were pretty high. Lots of Rugers, Colts, and of course, S&W.

I was really looking for a mod. 18, and there were a few. 950 and up. Saw a couple of plain jane 18's, (no Ts) for 1250. Priced high enough I didn't want to insult anyone by making an offer.

About halfway through, my buddy spotted the 17 above, marked 750. The vendor said it belonged to his partner personally. The gun has target stocks and trigger, but unfortunately, no target hammer. Came back by a little later to talk to the owner, and he didn't hesitate to take the 600 I counted out.

Had to get to the range today. All I had on hand was Remington Thunderbolts. The target below shows the results at about 15 yards. Thinking this will work out OK. I'm sure my youngest grandson, Mitch, will be wanting to etch his name on it soon.

You are correct about the wax. It really deserves it. After removing the stocks last night, and seeing a little of what looks like factory lube, I think a complete disassembly and cleaning is in order. I'm really thinking the stocks have never been off.

Again, congrats on the 17. I sure would have snatched up that one. As for your quest for an 18, good luck. I picked up a 18-4 w/ box, TT, TH, and 99% a year or so ago. I paid $900 but I had the cash at the time.

I'm certain your grandson will enjoy the 17. I have told this story before but I had my then 12 year old grandson out to the range with the 17. After going thru a large number of 22 rounds
he looked at me and said "gramp's when you get old I want this gun" so at least I knew I wasn't old.
