Another 50's vintage, S&W .38 special followed me home this week. I just acquired this pre model 15, K38, Combat Masterpiece. It isn't perfect, it shows that it has been carried. It has some holster wear on the muzzle, and cylinder high points, and a few marks from snaps, rivets, etc., but I won't feel bad about firing it. Numbers match on frame butt, barrel, cylinder, ejector star, cylinder crane, and grips. It has a wonderfully smooth, tight action, and the trigger breaks like glass.

Great guns, I carried one for years as an issued weapon.

I have one in about the same condition. You're going to love it. Congratulations.

What a nice revolver! Congratulations!

Nice!

I have one just like it, # 1923xx, and it's my most accurate revolver. What's funny, is that I bought it thinking that it was a Model 15 (that's what it was marked as, and I didn't have my reading glasses) and the price was too good to pass up, $389 OTD. When I got home and more closely examined it, I realized what it really was. Then, after a thorough testing, it became clear that I had made a fantastic purchase.

You won't regret buying it!

Very Nice 1953 five screw Combat Masterpiece !
Especially like the "proud" front site pins and "High Speed" hammer.

Found its twin on a pawn shop dealers table at a gunshow (top) camouflaged in a pair of 70's era targets ,
The early satin finish and bent Hammer spur suggested it was older.

Lower one is a pre 18
