Karma picker software?

I seem to recall somebody mentioning they used some software to randomly pick karma winners. Is there something like that available these days, or can a program like excel be used to do this?

"Back in the day" when S&W Forum and Sig Forum were related, there was something called, "The Karminator" which would make random selections. Since this forum has be revamped a few times, it doesn't (or, didn't) work any more.

Seems like a lot of work, I just write down the names and draw them from a hat.

I would suggest doing a google search on "random number generator". Some time back I did that and downloaded a great little program. To use it you first assigned a number to each entrant, then entered the total number of prospective winners into the program, hit "enter", and it would randomly pick out the winning number. But I'm embarrassed to admit that I cannot find that program right now on my computer. Old age must be catching up with me.

I just wrote down the number for each post on a separate piece of paper, crumpled them up, threw them in a hat and had the wife draw one out! Worked out quite well.
