If you don't use your carry piece regularly at the range, you may not notice how much lint accumulates around the trigger and inside the barrel.
Sure many put on their holster and put their carry in much like putting their wallet in the pocket daily without a glance.
I noticed the other day around my trigger the lint that was collecting there. I decided since it's been weeks I've visited the range that I best break it down and do a cleaning.
I'll be making regular visual inspections to be sure it remains clean.

I have a closed bottom pocket holster on order for my Shield to help the pocket lint problem. It is not a perfect solution but it will help. Also pulling the pants pockets out for laundry helps.

I use an IWB holster that has an open bottom. I think too, the lube used on the slide and around other components of the gun are like a magnet for lint.
