Kel-Tec Ads

Keltec is a very innovative company that has come up with some great designs but some of their guns look a little cheezy. They came up with the polymer pocket .32 then .380 which everyone and their dog has copied and I'm usually interested in one of their new designs but never buy one because they always seem to lack some refinement. I've owned three of their guns and they were reliable and accurate enough but other makers came along and made something I liked more so I sold them.

They have been making and selling guns since 1995. Employ several hundred people They use Zytek in the frames (a DuPont Product used in hundreds of applications)
I had a 32 and 380 until Ruger copied them so I bought the Ruger. I may look at one of their 22 lr. I like the PMR 30 trigger but 22 mag in a pistol is a too much for the ammo.

Bought a P32 when they first came out as a uniform hide out gun. The sharp molded checkering and a cast seam line on the frame make it slightly uncomfortable to shoot, but at the time it was really the only game in town, size vs power ratio.

4-500 rounds thru it with total reliability, and I can keep them all in the kill zone of a 25 yard target. Whats not to like?

Retired it in favor of an LCP when they came out, only for the slightly improved ballistics of the .380

The P32 was an neat gun when it came out, and still seems one of best ultra compacts on the market. I just find their marketing to be crude and inappropriate. The "tactical" ads from some of the higher end companies are weird as well.

I think my favorite gun ad is that old one from Smith where they compared their svelte 686 to the thick GP100. I believe there was a hamburger or steak with Ruger grips involved.

Have a KSG shotgun, PMR-30 .22 magnum handgun and a P-32. All have been excellent and reliable. I gave the P-32 to my dad in AZ after he got his CCW. He is not a gun guy and wanted something light and easy to carry.

I had traded some guns and ammo and ended up with a little Kel Tec .32 of some kind and the darn thing wouldn't stop working. I gained a lot of respect for the little thing. I even carried it in my sock at times.

Classic Kel Tec thread. People who don't have one look down on them, folks who own one are usually pleased. I have a P3AT, PF9, P11, P40, PMR 30 (2 actually, one is my wife's), Sub 2000. Never a problem with any of them.
