Howdy,

Texas Gun and Knife Show Sept 9-10

Hill Country Gun Show 2017, Sept 16-17

My first Gun Shows since coming to Texas

Surprised to see that they are a week apart.

Wife and I are planning to go on the first day of both.

Would like to meet other forum members who are going.

Look for the plump Asian guy wearing a LOUD Aloha shirt.

See you there.

I think they have sausage dealers down there who advertise that their wurst is the best.

Those are probably pretty good shows, if not as big as the huge ones in Dallas and Ft. Worth. I think you'll find gun ownership easier than back in Hawaii.

I'm glad to see that you made it here okay, presumably with your furballs. Er, "fur kids."

This coming weekend is also the Austin Gun Show in Round Rock TX right near the Old Settlers exit off I-35.

It's 10 minutes from my humble abode so I'll be in line for the 9AM opening on Saturday.

Possibly Sunday,if I don't empty my wallet on Saturday, I'll travel to the Texas Gun and Knife Show.I hope it's a big success with lots of nice S&W revolvers.

Howdy,

The Wife and I made it to the show.

I found several very nice 27-2s,

Nickel 3 1/2 in Austin PD and a blue 4 in.

Seller also had several other nice Smiths which I wasn't interested in.

The 27s were going for $1950. He admitted a bit high But, he really didn't want to sell them, But.....

He is very knowledgeable and took time to discuss them with me.

Saw several other nice used(holster wear) Smiths.

Wanted to get a 25-5 45 Colt $750 with holster wear but couldn't since we
don't have Texas Driver's License Yet until we close on property at end of month.

Also found me was a like new basically unfired parkerized Remington 870 20 ga.
Great for me for carrying in the UTV driving around the property. $350

I told the sellers that I didn't have a Texas DL yet, disappointed No Sale but Happy I was up front with them.

One told me that if I hadn't told him, he would have sold me a gun.

Another said his judgment of me said he thought I was a
"good guy" and he'd have sold me a gun too.

All told me that see them in November and they'll most likely still have the guns and I can get them then.

Wife bought some nice jewelry.

She was looking for a gun purse, but none were quite "right" for her.

Found a guy who makes swing steel plates, I will most likely be getting a set or two after we get our new place.

I enjoyed the show and will be seeing the same guys at the other shows and enjoying their company.

More than likely, they're going to be trying to sell me stuff since I will have bought something from them.

Can't wait til next week's gun show.

You might be seeing me in the area in about 18 or so months. IM hoping to move into the hill country near Kerville or in or around loop 1604 (San Antonio) or kinda near Bandera. Aint made up my mind yet.

I was in the door at the Austin show at a few minutes past the 9AM opening. It's the 1st day out of the house, except for stitches removal on Friday, since I got basil cell carcinoma surgery on my left thigh and the 30 stitches to close the hole.

I viewed a 4" pre 19 and 2 3 1/2" pre Model 27 with interest one of which was nickle with cokes. The nickle finish was a bit rough in several spots.

The blue on was in excellent condition with a factory patridge front sight.I haggled and offered a nice trade but no deal was made.

I went home with some bullets,357mag brass and some small pistol primers.

Next weekend I plan on attending the show in Dripping Springs.

Belated welcome, Yogi. I'm sure you'll make a great Texican.
