The new wheel from Kimber. Wow thats one ugly barrell and a huge price tag to boot. I M H O. I would buy a Ruger or Smith over it

Just cleaning two of my most carried guns. Got back from the range a few hours ago. Yes, one is a Kimber K6. As always beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I personally think it's a handsomely built piece and serves me well. Guess what? No Lawyer Lock anywhere on it.

The first time that I handled one I told the clerk "I will take it".

The fit and finish is outstanding only to be exceeded by the
accuracy of the shot placement and the trigger pull.

Might as well pull out this poorly done photo shopped pic again:

the 3" version looks more like a gas pump:

I have. I agree that they are nicely put together, but the backstrap needs to be radiused, it's too square and really bites my hand with magnums. I am very happy with my M640-1 Pro and M60 CS.

I thought the K6S was ugly at first, but I bought it because the trigger was amazing and it had a 6 shot capacity. Dr. Lou might be right about magnum loads really biting, but I shoot 38 Special and Plus P. After a couple weeks I came to like the looks of the gun -- a very efficient design essentially the same size and weight of a 640 but with an extra round. My holster for my K6S was designed for a S&W J-frame. Fits perfectly.

I've never run high-proof .357 in mine, but the Remington 125 gn Golden Sabers are comfortable.

I really like mine. Not only are the sights actually visible, but you can get tritium, and they're dovetailed. Replacing the sights on my 640 would be a spot of bother, but no big deal on the Kimber. I don't know if the extra round is worth the extra $100, but the attention to detail probably is.

I handled one awhile back. Seemed like a well put- together revolver. I thought the trigger was great, and I don't find it unattractive.

I suppose the only time it would be worth it is if you used 5 already. Then it would be well worth it!

This discussion raises an interesting question. Recently, on a whim, I bought a used Ruger LCR. I held out no expectations for it and had it planned as a sometimes carry around the water. Then I took it to the range! Turns out I love the trigger and shoot it faster/more accurately (obviously not simply more accurately) than pistols costing many times as much.

So, my question is: Has anybody shot an LCR and a Kimber side by side? (I concede the feel, fit and finish race. Just asking about shooting results here.)

I own the Kimber and have done a lot of shooting with a LCR. Triggers are both nice but after that they are two different guns. Heavy, solid, all steel, great sights vs polymer frame weighing over a half pound less, machined in rear sight, 5 shot snubbie.
Both will get the job done. It just depends on what you personally looking for in a short barrel revolver.

Neither Ruger nor S&W offer a similar compact six shot magnum. Closest Smith would be the 2.75" 66, which is still bigger in every dimension. Maybe the K6S will inspire them to come out with a six shot 640 or SP 101.

The barrell is only issue I saw from picture. And a bit pricey for my budget . I am not against ugly lol got plenty to go round lol. On the motorcycle end I love the Triumph Rocket 111. Deemed ine of the ugliest.

Have you shot one yet? Lemme guess, you think Glocks are pretty.

It sounds like someone's feelings were hurt. I never said it was a bad gun, but I do feel it has unusual styling cues.

And Glocks are blocks, but I still own 2.

I have both and I shoot both and as you would suspect they have totally different the trigger characteristics.

The K6S trigger really stages back and it tells you with a little more pressure it's a go.

The LCR has a shorter pull and not much warning before it fires.

I only shoot 7 and 15 yards and the K6S is more accurate by a whisker .
The Kimber with it's additional weight is more pleasurable to shoot.

That said, the LCR is my EDC.

I hope this helps.
