Technically, Kimber's warranty is for one year to the original owner. I have had my K6S close to 2 years and I bought it used. Nevertheless, when an issue came up I called Kimber and told them my issue and volunteered that I have been shooting the gun and carrying it for nearly 2 years and that I bought used. My confession did not phase the CS rep. He sent me a pre-paid shipping label and eight days later my gun was returned with a couple new parts. Totally free. Kimber's customer service was excellent.

It's very good to hear when companies stand behind their product. I'm curious what issues it had. The new K6S DASA is on my short list of "wants".

Mine was in the first 8000 K6S revolvers, so I suspect they were still getting some bugs out. The issue arose after I had shot and cleaned the gun. I dry fired it a few times and then the mechanism just locked up. The trigger would only come back a quarter inch or so and that was that. The ejector rod had not backed out, nor was there any crud under the extractor. I was stumped, so I sent it back. They changed out the hammer and sear (in my previous post I had said they changed out 2 parts, but on thinking about it, the hammer and sear are both really one part. Oops).

It's a good gun with a great trigger and it's very accurate. I suspect there may have been an issue of hardness and something being too brittle. Who knows? The trigger on the returned gun feels as good as ever.

Like you I am seriously contemplating the new K6S DASA (I like the looks of the 2").

Mine too, TD. I hope Kimber's been building the K6S long enough that all the bumps in the road have been smoothed over. I'll find out whenever the LGS calls saying they're in.

The dasa looks neato. I just wish they wouldn't have ripped off rugers cylinder release, it's just unappeling to the lines of the gun in my opinion. Nevertheless I want one.

I hope that $1,000 msrp comes down in the shops though. I don't see myself buying a kimber dasa when I can buy sweet pre-lock 60, 66, and 686 snubs with much less money.
