King Cobra Introduced

I have seen a lot of negative comments on other forums but I like it. Glad Colt is expanding their offerings. I cant wait to see/feel it when it arrives in stores.

The original King Cobra and Cobra were actually two different animals. The Cobra built on the smaller D-frame and King Cobra built on the medium AA-frame (Frame mounted firing pin).
Now with both models built on the same size frame they have us really confused.

A 3" version of the Cobra in 357 Magnum was introduced yesterday.

Colt's Manufacturing LLC

Hope I don't get banned for linking to the Colt web site.

IMHO, THIS IS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR. I AM GLAD TO SEE COLT BACK IN THE DA REVOLVER BUSINESS, WITH WHAT MAY BE THEIR 4TH NEW OFFERING......

COMPETITION WITHIN THE INDUSTRY, IS GOOD FOR US CONSUMERS.......

Not my cup o tea. In a couple weeks I’ll make sure to check it out and shoot it at SHOT Show media day. I wasn’t impressed with the new Cobra..

It's nice to see a new revolver introduced. I sometimes feel like a dinosaur because in a polymer age, I like traditional revolvers.

I’m glad Colt is making new revolvers. Not that long ago any post that speculated this would happen was met with a chorus of NOT GONNA HAPPEN and KEEP DREAMIN’!

Well, it happened. The new Cobra is selling sell, and I suspect this one will, too.

If I had a choice between this Colt and a vintage S&W, I’d probably go for the Smith. Between this Colt and a new Smith? No question I’d get the Colt. That is the market they are after.

Keep ‘em coming. I love Colts, and anything new that helps keep them afloat is great news to me.

I have one Colt revolver... an Agent with factory hammer shroud, and I don't care for it... but it was my late father's so I will pass it on to my son... but it has not been out of the safe or shot in decades... I like the way the new Colt's look... but have no desire to get one...

Basicly a modern SS Detective Special copy in .357...Meh :(

If they start making a SS Python or SS Diamondback copy in .22lr priced in the same $800 price range I might be interested....

Otherwise S&W revolvers are superior in every way IMO.

I'm reserving judgement because the photo linked to on Colt's website looks more like a Photoshop rendering than an actual product. Historically, however, it's more of a Magnum Carry than a King Cobra. But given Colt's resurrection of their snake-gun nomenclature, the name makes sense in their current marketing strategy (a Cobra(TM), but king-sized). We will have to wait until 1/21/2019 to see what they really look like. But as I have yet to see a Night Cobra in the wild (nearly a year after its SHOT Show 2018 debut), I'm not holding my breath.

AS A GUY WHO SHOT COLT REVOLVERS EXCLUSIVELY FOR 3 DECADES---I TOTALLY AGREE......
