I had the camera out and was taking some knife pictures, but noticed we don't have a specific picture thread for knives. So I made this thread. Post'em if ya got'em. :)

I know many of you will chuckle at my lowly contribution, but in all honesty this is the best knife I've ever owned. I have a "ton" of Benchmades, Spydercos, Bucks, etc. with "specials" from Mel Pardue, Jess Horn, Pat Crawford et al. But this Gerber Bolt-Action has been my "go to" knife for over 30 years. In the workshop, garden, carpet work, it has done it ALL. I'm sorry that it is missing the logo medallions, they were lost years ago. I believe the original design is by Blackie Collins.

Great idea, Smith 357. Here's a few of mine:

1. S&W "Extreme Ops". I have one in the car and another in the truck in case of severe accidents. Serrated blade is for cutting the seat belt in case it jams, and that little doohickey at the other end is for breaking out the side window in case neither the door or window can be opened.

2. A few Laguioles. I've since added to the collection (accumulation?).

3. My favorite Buck. I bought it in the PX at Ft Richardson AK in the 1960s and it's been on my side a lot since then. Cleaned two moose, four caribou and a muley with it.

4. Barry Wood folder, half open. This one made for Colt. That arrangement didn't last long as Colt and Wood had conflicting ideas about manufacturing and marketing.

5. My EDC for over 30 years. My wife sent it to me when I was in RVN. I carried it until 2002, when the wear on the scales made the metal edge of the shield and cross stand out fom the body and they were sharp. I retired it and now carry its twin.

Knives? Did somebody say, "Knives?" Well, come to think of it, I do have a couple lying around the ol' homestead.

Well...let's get started. First is a Randall Model 25-5 in high carbon steel.

Next, a Randall Model 25-5 in stainless.

Here's a few more:

1. A few SAKs.

2. Two identical Fontenille-Pataud Laguioles. The one on top with the darker cow horn scales is in my collection. The one wih the lighter scales is my general purpose knife in the kitchen. Couldn't ask for a better kitchen knife.

3. My only Randall. I love just looking at it but have never used it.

4. An Opinel with the handle made from scraps of oak used in making the replica of L'Hermione" the fregate that carried Lafayette to the US.

5. A traditional Laguiole with a corkscrew and prong in addition to the blade. The brass rivets form a cross. The shepherds say grace before the cross at mealtime.

Some moe of mine. Nothing as nice as the ones I've jsut seen, though.

1. US trench knife, M 1917 (?).

2. Fallkniven S1. Very heavy duty knife. I don't think you could break it.

3. Belgian Army pocket kkife. About 10 years ago there were boxes of these a gun shows, mostly very rusty. This is the best one I've seen.

4. Laguiole, with the hilt made fron scrap steel off the Glnden Gate Bridge.

5. An ulu I bought in a tourist store in Ketchikan AK in 1946. Bone handle, slate blade. Possibly the real thing.

Going with my two OOSIK handled knives.
One is a Loveless style drop point hunter made by the late Cody Wescott, Las Cruces, NM.
The other is an Ulu that I bought in Alaska.

Maybe you should explain what an OOSIK is. Probably a lot of readers don't know.
