Was visiting a local pawn shop yesterday for the first time. The folks there commented they had just received 3 Smith snubbies from an elderly gent who was "thinning the herd"
I picked up this like-new BG 38 for a very reasonable price. Action is great, shoots to POA and will make a great alternative to my heavy G-19 for EDC...But the darn skinny grip kills my knuckle when firing.
I thought I might try the old pachmyr grip sleeve that was popular years ago..but then I figured I'd ask the experts here for advice on a workaround.

If you have large hands getting you knuckles busted is just part of the "fun", NOT. I shot my Chief's Special last week and quickly remembered one of the reasons I have not really shot it much lately. The heavier the load, the more it hurts. Try 148 grain wadcutters or regular velocity 158 rggain RNL bullets as they are very mild shooting. You could also try different grips.

I don't believe the grip on the BG38 is replaceable...maybe someone can comment on that...and I did try 148 WC and they still hurt...😭edited to add...all is not lost, I have a bid in on GB for a beautiful model 38 ., so if I win, I'll sell the BG and put a nice CTC grip on the 38 and call it a day
