Hey gundingos.
Since I got my carry permit for Nevada (have carried before in other states but it expired) a couple weeks ago I've been building up my carry setup. Well today a new belt and holster was waiting for me in the mailbox.
I should start with I've been using a Sticky brand friction IWB holster for my Springer Hellcat for the past week and a half and while it's been okay, I was on the last hole of my Beltman traditional leather gun belt and the Sticky holster is actually kind of bulky and never stays in the right spot, and it is held in just by friction so it's kind of like "ehhh!" in a way.
I needed a new belt and a new holster. My little meow meow boomy kitty (awesome gun BTW) deserved it (and so did I). So, countless net searches lead me to this:
SICK RIG guys!! I've used hybrid holsters before when I carried a Makarov and like them. This Crossbreed rocks, I have it adjusted with an FBI cant to set the gun fairly low so my natural creases can conceal it but with the grip sticking up for a solid draw. Reholstering is very nice. Awesome holster with nay nay (horse) hide backing which is thin and better at dealing with moisture out here in the hot Nevada sun. The rig makes the Springer Hellkitten disappear on the waist and is so far quite comfy, even though it hasn't broken in yet.
The real star of the show is the Kore belt. Guys, BUY ONE. I couldn't believe how much more comfy it was than my old Beltman. It uses a ratchet mechanism with 1/4" adjustments and uses a small button to move in and out. This is an INCREDIBLE belt... being able to adjust it so finely eliminates the "if there was just one more hole" problem or wanting holes between them. These belts are sold as one size fits all and you trim them yourself and attach the buckle, all super simple.
It doesn't even feel like I'm wearing a belt honestly. The Buckle is low profile and doesn't poke my beer gut when I bend over, and the belt material is rigid with a polymer core. Comes in many different colors and styles for both the belt and buckle, many looking much less "tactical" than the one I bought.
Glad to finally get a solid carry setup going for my Springer Heckmeower!
