I just bought a new 10mm M&P 2.0 Performance Center that should be here in a few days. I have a few other 10mm's (Sig, FN, &Glock) and love the cartridge.

This is my first Smith semi auto so I'm excited about it. I'm very familiar with the revolvers and have a 629 PC 8 3/8" currently and am considering a 686 Plus.

Any suggestions or thoughts from you who have experience with this gun? I can't wait to get it.

Thanks!
Steve

People generally are not in favor of the plastic optic mounting plates that come with most M&Ps. Some go aftermarket, others have stated that a call to S&W customer service got them a complimentary metal optics plate (LE box guns still come with metal plates).

Just another data point, I got a new full-size 2.0 in February. I had read the same thing Beju said. I called S&W saying my #5 plate had mushroomed posts and asked if I could buy a metal #5 plate. The rep said metal plates were not available, but he sent me a new plastic plate.

I don't know if it was just the rep I talked to or if they truly are no longer available? It's probably still worth a try. Please report back if you have any luck.

I put a CH Precision optic plate on mine and saw noticeable improvement over the stock plastic optic plate. Also installed a 24lb galloway precision recoil spring. Added a floyd custom magwell and mag extensions and am happy with them.

Hope yours shoots well. Mine shot a 4 inch group at 15 yards while my SA 5.25 inch had a one inch group with the same ammo. Not good from a PC gun. Smith wants me to keep trying different ammo. Rll

Yep...get into reloading...

Which barrel length did you buy? I've had a 10mm 2.0 (4.6" bbl) for a couple of years now with absolutely no issues. It's also very accurate and easy to shoot with several types of factory ammo. I did find that the S&W plastic optics plate tended to loosen up after shooting so I replaced it with a metal plate from C&H...my Holosun 507C RDO hasn't budged since I made the change. BTW- I also have a 3" 686-6 Plus and it's my favorite OWB carry revolver. It's built like a tank and fun to shoot (with Hogue Tamer grips). Good luck!

It hadn't arrived yet but its Performance Center version with the ported barrel so I think it's 5.6". Here's a pic.

Shoot it a bunch to find out what works well for you and what doesn't before you mess with. I mean at least 500 and preferably 1000+ rounds stock to get a baseline.
