I just bought a new 10mm M&P 2.0 Performance Center that should be here in a few days. I have a few other 10mm's (Sig, FN, &Glock) and love the cartridge.

This is my first Smith semi auto so I'm excited about it. I'm very familiar with the revolvers and have a 629 PC 8 3/8" currently and am considering a 686 Plus.

Any suggestions or thoughts from you who have experience with this gun? I can't wait to get it.

Thanks!
Steve

People generally are not in favor of the plastic optic mounting plates that come with most M&Ps. Some go aftermarket, others have stated that a call to S&W customer service got them a complimentary metal optics plate (LE box guns still come with metal plates).

Just another data point, I got a new full-size 2.0 in February. I had read the same thing Beju said. I called S&W saying my #5 plate had mushroomed posts and asked if I could buy a metal #5 plate. The rep said metal plates were not available, but he sent me a new plastic plate.

I don't know if it was just the rep I talked to or if they truly are no longer available? It's probably still worth a try. Please report back if you have any luck.

I put a CH Precision optic plate on mine and saw noticeable improvement over the stock plastic optic plate. Also installed a 24lb galloway precision recoil spring. Added a floyd custom magwell and mag extensions and am happy with them.

Hope yours shoots well. Mine shot a 4 inch group at 15 yards while my SA 5.25 inch had a one inch group with the same ammo. Not good from a PC gun. Smith wants me to keep trying different ammo. Rll

Yep...get into reloading...

Which barrel length did you buy? I've had a 10mm 2.0 (4.6" bbl) for a couple of years now with absolutely no issues. It's also very accurate and easy to shoot with several types of factory ammo. I did find that the S&W plastic optics plate tended to loosen up after shooting so I replaced it with a metal plate from C&H...my Holosun 507C RDO hasn't budged since I made the change. BTW- I also have a 3" 686-6 Plus and it's my favorite OWB carry revolver. It's built like a tank and fun to shoot (with Hogue Tamer grips). Good luck!

Shoot it a bunch to find out what works well for you and what doesn't before you mess with. I mean at least 500 and preferably 1000+ rounds stock to get a baseline.

My PC has worked fine. If you don't reload, then find the factory offering of your choosing that groups best. What groups in one firearm may not group well in another. Just a matter of finding what it likes.
Mine prefers nosler 180 jhps over longshot. Hornady 180 gr XTPs and HAPs are not far behind w the same powder charge. Took it to the range this morning to make sure the holosun hasn't changed zero because its been awhile. First 5 were within 1.25"@25 yards about an inch right of the bull. Slight adjustment and the next 5 were spot on. Considering these loads came off my Dillon 550, not complaining. My 10mm Tisas Nightstalker SF likes that charge w XTPs so much that 8 out of 9 tore one hole less than an inch at 25 yards. The one factory load that performs well in both is the Fiocchi Defense Dynamics. The velocity is as advertised according to the Garmin Xero.

Haven't tried any so called 200gr bear stoppers because my 629 will be riding in the chest rig while in bear country, not any of my 10mms. I do have some 200gr HAPs, but haven't had the hankering to work up a load for those. The 180s doing 1250 fps will work fine on yotes, feral dogs, and maybe an occasional pig.

Thanks. Great advice too. I love the 10mm round and have five already but this will be my first Sig Auto (of any caliber).

Hope it arrives this weekend!
