Today I watched a video that said a Korth .44 frame pistol uses L-frame grips. Very interesting.

This spring, I picked up a couple of new N frames to play with in .44 and .357. I like them, but the trigger reach is a bit long for my medium-size hands and I'm struggling with proper double-action trigger work. Of course, single-action is no problem. I tend to work the trigger at the first knuckle...if that makes sense. N frame LOP is a big ask with my hands.

I've been shooting J-frames exclusively for a couple of years and love them for practical EDC. But, I also spend a lot of time camping and outside for eight months of the year in grizzly country. When doing so, I have been carrying an M69 L-frame with a 2.75 barrel. Works for me and the LOP is do-able.

The idea of getting a 6-shot, high-quality N-frame in .44 Mag with an L-frame grip might be worth $5K to me.

My question is; do any of you have a large-frame Korth in .44? How does the LOP (or trigger reach) compare to either an N or L frame Smith? Please keep in mind that I like a bare back strap...mainly due to my "short-fingered syndrome".

I've never understood why the N-frame necessitated a larger grip in the first place. The K frame was introduced before the N frame was designed. Why couldn't S&W have kept the grip frame dimensions the same for the K/L & N, especially when the X frame guns have the same grip as K/L. Seems it would simplify production and fit a wider variety of hand sizes, since you can get either open or closed backstrap stocks.
