Kramer belt scabbard

Has anyone tried the Kramer belt scabbard holster? I'm considering it for my 3" 686p since he's fairly local. It looks like it rides nice and high but I'm concerned with how secure the gun is for someone active with no thumbbreak.

TNDave any worries about gun falling out if you have to run or jump? I've always had a thumb break or some other form of retention strap. Hate to lose it while outrunning a swarm of hornets. Those suckers just don't quit

I had a Kramer Horsehide for my model 66. It has a stiff piece of leather behind the cylinder that gave outstanding retention. I could hold it upside down and shake really hard, and the 66 would not move. To draw I had to either pull really hard, or press laterally with my thumb on the holster mouth.

If anything, they are too tight! I used one for a season while carrying a 4" 329PD. Excellent holster. Mine was in horsehide.

No. Your gun will stay put even if you stand on your head

I've owned many Kramer horsehide holsters over the years. They're top-quality holsters that should last several lifetimes.

All my carry guns ride in Kramer horsehide holsters, either the vertical scabbard or the IWB#2. They are absolutely top quality and I have had no retention problems. In fact the one for my M60 holds the gun so tightly that I have to give the gun a little twist when I draw it so the cylinder will slide out!

Guess I'll have him make me up a belt scabbard. I still have the first horsehide shoulder holster he made for the Colt Officers ACP when they first came out in the 80's. He took the dimensions of my then new toy.

Most of my herd rides in Kramer holsters both IWB and OWB. The quality is fabulous and your concern about retention is easily answered. Put a gun in one and the TRY to MAKE it fall out over a bed or sofa. It is not going to happen.
Get one and you will see what those of us that own them are talking about.
